Configure Third-Party Inference sends all model requests to a provider you pick.

• Who it's for. Organizations with security or data rules, Anthropic says.
• Nobody checks it. Anthropic doesn't endorse, maintain or audit third-party gateways.

It can log every request

Anthropic's docs list audit logging as a reason companies run a gateway.

• A gateway sees. Prompts, files and replies, on a server you don't know.
• Viewer reports. Accounts open, then requests fail. Not tested by us.
• Your password. If you used it anywhere else, change it.

On Claude Desktop's sign-in screen, choose the Anthropic sign-in option.

• Clear the setting. Delete the configLibrary folder, Anthropic's docs say.

• Reused password. Change it where you used it.
