Ads on your TV? Clean it in about 15 minutes

Only Android TVs

It works on Android TV and Google TV sets. Not every TV.

• Who gets it. Sony, TCL, Hisense, Xiaomi, Philips, Nvidia Shield and most Android sets.
• Who doesn't. Samsung, LG, Roku and Vizio. Fire TV gets the cleanup, not the new home.

Off, not deleted

The free CleanYourTV project uses Android's own switch to turn apps off.

• Backs up. Your app list and settings, first.
• Turns off. Ad services, sponsored rows, tracking and preloaded apps.
• Adds. A clean home screen that looks like Apple TV.

Not every ad

It cleans the TV's own home screen. What the video left out:

• Ads inside apps stay. YouTube ads, for one. The project says so itself.
• Claude Code isn't free. It needs Claude Pro or higher. The free plan doesn't include it.
• Copycat sites. Use the project's own GitHub page. Other sites use its name.

Turn on USB debugging

Settings, Device Preferences, About. Press OK on Build seven times. Then Developer options, USB debugging.

• On Google TV. Settings, System, About, Android TV OS build.
• Network debugging. If you see it, turn it on too. Keep the TV on.

Clone it, paste the prompt

Same Wi-Fi as the TV. Open the project folder in Claude Code and paste its prompt:

Say which apps you use

Accept Allow USB debugging on the TV, then answer its checklist.

• It asks first. Before it turns off anything you might use.
• About 15 minutes. It checks each step with screenshots from the TV.

One line puts it back

The project saves a record before it changes anything.

• Changed your mind. Its restore script turns every app back on.
• No Claude plan. Every command is in the project to run by hand. Free.
• Computer needs. Python 3, Java (JDK 17 to 22), Android SDK 34.
