• Who it hits. Anyone selling AI-made recipes, patterns or how-to guides on Etsy.
• Who it doesn't. Planners, trackers and checklists, with the AI use disclosed.

No AI how-to guides

Etsy's Seller Handbook, Oct 22, 2026: AI-generated functional instructions are not allowed.

• Out. Recipes, craft patterns, project plans, manuals, how-to e-books.
• Written by you. Still fine. Show a real photo of the result, not an AI image.

Fill-in, not how-to

Things buyers fill in and print. Our reading of Etsy's rule.

• Planners. Budget, wedding, teacher or habit planners.
• Trackers and charts. Habit trackers, chore charts, savings trackers.
• Templates. Calendars, checklists to fill in, meal-plan grids.

Turn on Settings, Capabilities, Create and edit files. Free plan too. Then paste:

Claude drafts. You edit.

A PDF you can download, with every page laid out.

• Read every page. Fix what sounds generic. Check every number.

Say it's made with AI

Etsy requires it in the listing description.

• Etsy fees. $0.20 to list, 6.5% per sale, plus payment fees (US: 3% + $0.25).
• Or your own page. Payhip's free plan: 5% per sale, plus PayPal or Stripe fees.

Bring buyers from Pinterest

People search Pinterest to plan: a budget, a wedding, a new puppy.

• 3 pins per product. Each with a different angle, linking to the product.
• Keep adding. One pin won't do it. Add more every week. Results vary.
