After acquiring my Ford Transit 2019 for my family i realized it did not have enough space in the back for my baby’s stroller! After a couple of minutes i realized i needed to only remove the last row in the back of the Ford Transit and one other one near the middle doors. After researching online I found this guide on how to remove the seats in a 2019 Ford Transit Connect.
Ford transit seat removal tools
you will need:
- screwdriverCRAFTSMAN Screwdriver Set, 5-Piece (CMHT65050)(only need on 2nd row to hold the lever in place)
- T50 Torx bit
- T55 Torx bit
- Socket wrench
- Socket extension
- Zip Cable Ties approx 4( used two to pull levers to remove the seat and used two to tie up the seat belt all the way out. )
How to remove the Last Row of Seats
To remove the last row of seats in the Ford Transit 2019, you can
– Unclip and remove the plastic covers on the underside of the seat (these just pop off).In my case, I just had to use to loops on the lever, push the middle seats forward with my shoulders and pull back.
That was easy enough but the two on either side do require some muscle work.
This is for the individual seats on both ends of the last row
- Open the cover of the seat belt, just pull back lightly, this will expose the Torx bolts.
- Open the cover of the seatbelt compartment, this will expose the Torx bolt. Be careful as the cover is and can break easily.
- pull the seat belt from the seatbelt mechanism( use the zip tie to hold it in place) when removing the Torx bolt for the seatbelt on top, it will retract if you do not lock in place.
- use the 55 Torx bit for the bottom seat belt mechanism
- use the 55 Torx bit and extension for the torx bolt that is hold down the seat in place.
- use the 50 Torx bit for the torx bolt holding the seat belt guide in place
– Take out the two T50 Torx bolts that are holding down each side of the seat at the front.( you will need the T50 & T55 Torx bit respectively. )
– At the back of each seat, there are two more T50 Torx bolts, one either side. undo these.
– The whole seat can now be lifted out. There are wires attached to it so be careful not to rip them out (you may need to unclip a few things first).
How To remove the center seats and row of seats right behind the driver(2nd row)
Pull the levers with the zip tie and place the screwdriver right under the lever so as to hold the latch in place while you do the other two levers of the seat. While you pull up the other two make sure you have help as this is a full three seats and is heavy.
